The Dickens Project has opportunities for high school and CA Community College students to attend the Dickens Universe for free.

High school students can enter the Essay Contest (see guidelines and deadline here). Up to two winners and their teachers will be selected to attend the week-long Dickens Universe, with Registration, campus lodging and meals covered by a scholarship offered by the Friends of the Dickens Project. In addition, there is a travel stipend for each person.

Community College students from California can also apply for a full scholarship to attend the Universe and receive 5 UC credits. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by July 1, 2013, and be enrolled in both fall and spring semesters for this academic year.
