Trude Hoffacker
Trude Hoffacker is a retired high school English teacher who currently tutors high school students in reading and writing, especially for college entry essays. She has been involved with the Dickens Project since 1980 and is a founding member of the Friends of the Dickens Project. Trude has been attending Dickens Universe for thirty-eight years for “the people, the informality, and the unifying spirit of Dickens.” “The Universe program is a unique one,” she explains, “because of the diversity of participants unified by an interest in Dickens.” When she’s not volunteering to tutor high school students and working for the Friends of the Dickens Project, Trude enjoys sewing and crafts as well as reading Dickens novels: “he is just a great writer…his sense of humor and skill with language are great.”
