Rivka Yerushalmi

Rivka Yerushalmi is a librarian and adult ESL teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland. Her appreciation for Dickens’ novels began during her high school days in Denver, Colorado, when she studied Great Expectations and A Tale of Two Cities. Years later, while living in San Jose, Rivka’s interest in Dickens was sparked once again while venturing into the Dickens Universe to study Dombey and Son. Subsequently, she became involved with the Friends of the Dickens Project as an original sponsor of the former high school essay contest. Now, through the dynamic Neighborhood Academic Initiative in Los Angeles, Rivka is delighted to support high school students who live near her alma mater, the University of Southern California (USC). Rivka holds graduate degrees from USC, the University of Maryland, and American University.
