The Mechanics' Institute Library at 57 Post St. in San Francisco will host a Dickens Day Celebration on Wednesday May 2 from noon to 8:30 pm. Morning speakers include John Jordan, Murray Baumgarten, Peter Orner, and Robert Young as Charles Dickens. Afternoon tea will be served. Evening festivities include Jane Smiley as keynote speaker, followed by a panel discussion with the morning's guests.
