Santa Cruz’s own Pickwick Club, a branch of the Dickens Fellowship, presents a talk by Malcolm Andrews, Emeritus Professor of English at the University of Kent and author of a number of books on Dickens. His talk, titled “The Text and its Pictures in the Original Edition of The Old Curiosity Shop,” explores the illustrations, by Phiz or George Cattermole, and their relationship to this very visual text. The talk, a wonderful introduction to the Universe week, will be held virtually July 12 at 9:00-10:30 AM (Pacific).
