Dan Atwell

Daniel Atwell is a retired high school teacher who taught English in Milpitas, California for 35 years. He has been involved with the Dickens Project for over twenty years and spent ten years as the Friends of the Dickens Project President. Dan enjoys promoting literacy and literature in his community as well as in Ethiopia with a mission project. Dan’s favorite Dickens novel is Great Expectations, which he taught, along with The Tale of Two Cities, to his junior and senior high school students for years. Of his involvement with the Friends of the Dickens Project, Dan says “The people are the best part! It’s great to help the Friends support John Jordan and raise money to keep the Dickens Project and the Dickens Universe. I have enjoyed being a past president of the Friends, bartender at the Grand Party, and the Auctioneer on Friday.”
